Time management tip for email

by Allen
(USA)

Schedule time for your email is a great time management tip.

I schedule 15-30 minutes in the morning and 15-30 minutes in the afternoon to check my email.

In this time I am processing my email (similar to David Allen's GTD). For tasks that are less than 5 minutes I respond there and then.

For tasks about 10 minutes or more I schedule into my Outlook diary.

I have found that scheduling my email has been a great timesaver.

Make sure that you take off the automatic email notification alert in your email.
