Student Goal Setting for Success

Student goal setting gives you the motivation and confidence to keep going when the going gets tough.

There is no doubt that being a student involves juggling many demands on your time, whether they be paid work, social life, sporting commitments and study. Integrating student life into an already busy life involves setting priorities, planning your work and then working your plan.

Motivation is the engine to your success and will keep you persistently working towards your goals. Knowing what you are going to achieve as a student, why you want to achieve it, and how you are going to achieve as a student involves goal setting.

If you would like to do a free week long goal setting course, that delivers you goal setting lessons each day to your Inbox, please click here.

Goal setting is about having a vision of what you want to achieve as a student and then taking small achievable steps to get there. The essence of goal setting is creating a bridge between today’s vision and tomorrow’s reality.

Once you have a vision of what you want to achieve then it is possible to create these into your long term study goals, which can be further broken down into short term goals.

Setting short terms goals are the hard part, and it is best to set SMARTER short term study goals, as these maximize your chances of academic success.
