Overcome Procrastination
Overcoming procrastination is a battle that we all wage, at one time or another. It is a battle between a habit of ease and a discipline of action. Make a decision to stop putting off today’s jobs for tomorrow. Bad habits "are like a comfortable bed - easy to get into, but hard to get out of." If I had a penny for how many times I have managed to convince myself to put that 'must do' task off until tomorrow. Here I provide a number of steps to beat the procrastination habit.

Putting off important tasks by doing less important tasks is a time waster, and when time is money, the this habit can be an expensive one. In short, procrastination can be a thief of your time. To beat this habit, you firstly need to identify the causes for why you keep putting things off. Knowing what causes you to put things off means that you can tailor a solution to you and beat procrastination! Psychologists have suggested that there may be a multitude of forces and inner conflicts that distract the person from this low productivity situation. For example, do you put things off because perhaps you don’t want to do the task, you fear change, have too much to do, have unclear goals, or are addicted to cramming or like don’t know where to start?

Avoiding Unpleasant TasksWhat could be easier than having that difficult chat with an employee, cleaning your house, or writing a tedious report? If this sounds like you then learn how to beat those unpleasant tasks. Being Overwhelmed and OverworkedThis is a big one for me - often I have several reports to write at once, and I don't know which to start first. This is becoming an increasingly common reason for putting things off. If you are often overworked and end up procrastinating as a result, then find these solutions to putting off work.

Noble traits in themselves, they can also cause you over commit your time and increase your stress. Fear of Failure Are you a creature of habit. Do you like the security of routines and consistency. If so, then you are not alone as they are vital for human well being. However, fear of change becomes a problem when it means you put off doing something that is good for you. It prevents you from truly living!
