Procrastination buster - the sandwich technique

by Cameron

I have found a great procrastination buster by using the sandwich technique of wedging the thing I am procrastinating on between two things I am looking forward to.

Here is how I do it.

I find that I procrastinate alot. To beat this, I write down all the tasks that I want to do that day.

I isolate the ones that are rewarding and the ones that I often procrastinate on.

Since I am keen to do rewarding tasks and they give me more energy, I do a rewarding task first. Because I tend to have momentum once I have done my rewarding task I quickly start the task that I have been procrastinating on - before any typical procrastination talk starts to fill my head.

I then reward myself for doing the task - either figuratively pat myself on the back or something else.

I find that this helps me to break procrastination.

Love the procrastination tip Camberon.

The sandwich technique is a great way to beat procrastination by creating momentum and then putting in rewards at the end of the dreaded task.

Here are some other ways to for overcoming procrastination.
