Organized home with two little boys

by Sandra
(USA)

Maintaining an organized home and trying to keep up with the over-growing garden, not to mention my two little boys. It’s easy to let chores slide.

The question I face is how to keep up with everything with two 13 month boys to look after.

The answer: a little bit at a time.

I thought I would be able to keep an organized home when the kids take their nap....problem...they don't like to take naps and when they do I am so tired!

At first I was completely overwhelmed. Washing clothes, keeping all the utensils clean, organizing bills.

Everything was just piling up and not getting done.

However, I have found that it is easier to stay on top of things one small step at a time.

I get 2 minutes here and 5 minutes there, and I find that just doing a little at a time can really make the difference.

I am even able to make some fun and games with the laundry - playing games with the children while I do some loads of washing.

Thanks for your organizing tips.

Sandra

I recently read a book by Kathy Peel on Organizing for Moms who are busy. You may want to check it out if you are looking for more ideas and tips to home organization.

We are about to have a baby, so your post was very inspiring.

All the best,
