Keep a journal to reduce clutter and organize your life

by Janice
(London)

Reducing clutter by keeping a journal has worked for me.

In the journal I record what I have done in the cluttering process and also what I want to do.

What I want to do usually overwhelms me.

To reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed by the paper and clutter what I do is break it down down my clutter sessions into an sequence of steps, which are smaller and more achievable.

I did this when I had to clean my house to move. I set small steps to declutter the drawer, then the kitchen, then the lounge room, and eventually the whole house.

It was a great way to stay motivated, and when I was done, it was was a real achievement to look back at all the stuff I had done.

I really like your website.

Janice

Kell's reply:

Thanks so much Janice for your decluttering tip. Decluttering can almost feel like an insurmountable task, especially when faced with the entire house.

I really the idea of breaking the decluttering sessions into smaller, more achievable tasks.

Regards,
Kell
