A goal is a dream written down - free goal setting templates for your success

A goal is a vision of where you want to go. These goal setting templates can help you to take small systematic steps to reach your vision of where you want to be.

Alternatively, you can enroll in the free goal setting course which ensures that you maximize your goal setting success

If you can think of a mountain that you want to climb. The top of the mountain is your long term goal, or vision of where you want to go. As you start off up the mountain you may find yourself thinking that I won't have morning tea until I reach the first rest stop, and that I will have lunch when I reach half way. With careful planning and focused action, you finally make it to the top of the mountain.

Goal setting is much the same as climbing this mountain. What seems like a large task is methodically broken down into smaller more manageable bite-sized pieces, known as short term goals.

Download your free goal setting worksheet to help you break down your vision into more manageable pieces.

Now you have probably heard of SMART goals, we use SMARTEer goals. So when you are setting your goals, make sure that you use SMARTer goals which maximizes your chances of goal-setting success.

Research suggests that a combination of long and short term goals is superior to long term goals only. This is because:

  • by achieving short-term goals you can increase your confidence and motivation by seeing the immediate benefit of achieving your goal, and
  • without short-term goals that lead you step-by-step towards your long range goal, it can be easy to lose sight of the top of the staircase, which can seem so far away.
